Sundog Eyewear named Official Eyewear of the LPGA Tour 2008 ADT Championship.

West Palm Beach, FL.:  Sundog Eyewear is pleased to announce that the company has been named the Official Eyewear of the LPGA Tour’s 2008 ADT Championship, Nov. 20-23 at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

“This is a fitting climax to spectacular year for Sundog,” said John Whitney, Sundog Eyewear Vice President of Product Development and Production. “The ADT Championship is the grande finale of the LPGA Tour year and it’s appropriate that we are going to be a big part of it after such an incredible year for our Genuine Performance players Paula Creamer, Hunter Mahan, and Mike Weir. And with Paula wearing her new Collection at the ADT, it’s going to be a great way to kick off the Sundog Eyewear 2009 line.”

Creamer had no problem making the elite Championship field of the top 32 players on the 2008 LPGA Tour as she won four times this season, including the Samsung World Championship, running the 22-year-old’s Tour total to eight victories. Meanwhile on the PGA Tour, 2003 Masters Champion and eight-time Tour winner Mike Weir amassed $2.76 million in finishing 15th on the money list. And Hunter Mahan finished 26th on that list with $2.1 million, but he really capped his season with a star turn at the Ryder Cup.

“The Championship format, with the field reduced to eight golfers playing Sunday in a shoot out for the $1 million first prize, is the most exciting in professional golf,” added Whitney. “And we’re really excited to have the opportunity as the Official Eyewear to showcase our all-new Paula Creamer Collection, Hunter’s new H Signature Series, and the 2009 Weir Golf Signature Series.”

At the spectacular Trump International GC, the 128 Wednesday Pro-Am participants will all receive custom fitted Sundog Eyewear sunglasses with a special ADT Championship logoed hard case.  And the same goes for the 220 participants in the Trump CEO Challenge, the Trump Charity Classic, and the Front Row Shootout. The complete line of Sundog Eyewear will be available at the merchandise tent.

The 2009 Sundog Eyewear line includes the Paula Creamer Collection’s favorite Prowl model complemented by two new styles for 2009 Allure (worn by Paula when she won the Samsung Championship) and Iconic. The 2009 H Signature Series that Hunter Mahan wore in all of his Ryder Cup matches will also be available, as will Mike Weir’s Grinder, Vision, and Balance models from his Weir Golf Signature Series that feature Cristec Polarized lens.

“The Championship dates back to 1996 and has had great winners like Karrie Webb (2), Annika Sorenstam (4), and Lorena Ochoa last year,” said Whitney. “Whether it was sponsored by ITT, PageNet, Arch Wireless, Tyco/ADT, or ADT, it has always been a dramatic and successful event, and we at Sundog Eyewear are looking forward to our participation in the 2008 Championship and many more in the future.”

The opening three rounds will be carried on Golf Channel with the million-dollar shootout on NBC November 23.
